Hugh Newman investigates the Bluestone quarry in West Wales, that was the source for some of the megaliths in Stonehenge, 130 miles away in Wiltshire. The ‘spotted dolerite’ is found at about three locations in the Preseli Hills of Pembrokeshire, but the recently excavated Craig Rhos-y-felin has proved that the ‘rhyolite’ bluestones came from this exact location. How did the stones get transported, and why are the legends of Merlin and giants involved in this story? Hugh discusses various theories, including Robin Heath’s ‘Lunation Triangle’ that connects Stonehenge with this area.

Join Hugh, with researcher Simon Banton on a private tour to Stonehenge on May 19th 2017. Details here: http://www.megalithomania.co.uk/booki…
